Kieltolaki - Totaalisen tuhon huominen (7'') #2006

Six crashing trax in the best tradition of early '80s Finnish HC - like a tightly wound early RIISTETYT. This has somewhat richer production with thrilling originality in the guitar changes of pace; it boasts loads of power while making for distinctive, original compositions. Totaalisen tuhon huominen has all the punch of thier previous ep, but with an added urgency. Vihasta ammennan voimaa is an especially chilling number that pratically gives off stream. All songs are well under two minutes, and make you ache for an album's worth of this stuff. Strongly recommended!

Endstand/Kafka - Diferente actitud juvenil (split) #2002

A split cd between Endstand, the finnish rock 'n' roll heroes of the DIY and the italian screaming mosher Kafka. 5 songs by Endstand and 4 by Kafka for keeping alive the political DIY hardcore spirit.
The split is out! It is produced by Fuxony rec (Brighton) and No! records, and contain 4 songs per each band plus a NEGATIVE APPROACH cover performed by Endstand. The title is Diferente actitud juvenil. The split is born by an idea of Buzz, the guy who leads Fuxony, and both the bands really liked it. The split cd, dividing a record with another band gives you the chance to have a large and effective distribution without desperately looking for the cohoperation of big labels. This allows us to be the creators of the whole thing, from the promotion to the realization of the cover, from production to distibution. This is hardcore for us, too.

Kieltolaki - Kieltolaki (7") #2006

Devastante 7" d'esordio per questo quartetto finnico impegnato nel recupero di sonorità ormai trentennali che si erano però diffuse anche nei freddi anni '80 finlandesi. Punk/hardcore a rotta di collo, selvaggio, breve e disperato, che in più di un momento richiama alla memoria la lezione dei maestri DISCHARGE. Peccato solo non poter comprendere una singola parola della lingua nordica che, nonostante tutto, sembra adattarsi bene al genere in questione.

AA.VV. - No legal murder (tape) #1992

Mastodontica compilation su c90 e undicesima uscita della Contaminated Productions di Raffaele. Non ci vuole molto per apprezzare gli intenti lodevoli che stanno dietro questo progetto: basta dare un'occhiata alla copertina e leggere la breve introduzione posta all'inizio della fanzine di 26 pagine allegata alla cassetta in questione, dove si dice che "lo scopo principale di questa iniziativa è quello di gettare il sasso nello stagno dell'indifferenza nei riguardi degli assassini legalizzati e più in generale dei soprusi, degli atti di violenza gratuita, delle atrocità e crimini vari operati dalle Forze dell'Ordine, viste non sotto il falso aspetto di Servizio Sociale, ma sotto quello ben più nascosto di organo di repressione legalizzato". Una dichiarazione d'intenti che, nonostante siano passati quasi vent'anni, conserva intatta tutta la sua efficacia. E questo perché il sistema repressivo, oltre ad aver ampliato il suo raggio d'azione all'interno delle nostre società e non aver perso una goccia della sua brutalità, continua ad essere protetto, difeso e legittimato da imbarazzanti connivenze politico-istituzionali. Non sarò certo io a insegnarvi cosa è successo a Carlo Giuliani, Federico Aldrovandi, Marcello Lonzi, Gabriele Sandri, Stefano Cucchi, e a tutte le vittime della violenza sbirresca e del sistema carcerario (cpt/cie inclusi). Questa compilation, "nata dopo 10 mesi di corrispondenze", cercava dunque di colmare il vuoto d'informazione sul lato oscuro delle cosiddette "democrazie" occidentali (quella italiana in particolare - c'è un lungo ma incompleto elenco di "legal murders" avvenuti nel belpaese): un paravento che ha consentito troppo a lungo al Potere di sventolare in favore di telecamera una coscienza immacolata.
E quando alle buone intenzioni si unisce anche un'ottima scelta dei gruppi in scaletta, il risultato finale è una compilation memorabile. Per la maggior parte si tratta di punk hardcore alla vecchia maniera, ma non mancano divagazioni sperimentali (Ruins), noise (Dawson), post punk (Dirty Hands), punk rock (Hirn, Chilli Confetti, Les Seminoles), crust (Hiatus), un tocco di elettronica industriale (Solanaceae Tau e Etat Des Stocks) e un pizzico di reggae/ska (Die Testers, The Subversives). Le band provengono da mezzo mondo: a tenere alta la bandiera italiana ci sono due ottime tracce di Infezione e Anticorpi e il rock psichedelico dei Neolithics; per gli stranieri spiccano invece le prove di Sabot, One by One, Thompson Rollet, Agent 86, Blind Justice e Demise. Al solito, la qualità delle registrazioni è piuttosto eterogenea ma il solo fatto che questa cassettina sia stata completamente autoprodotta dovrebbe aiutarvi a trasformare il difetto in virtù.

AA.VV. - Papi, queens, reichkanzlers & presidennti (7") #1982

Lo conoscete no? E' lo storico Secondo Attacco su 7" della seminale punk-label creata dai RAF PUNK, che raccoglie brani dei bolognesi IRAH e SOTTOCULTURA (pre-RAPPRESAGLIA), dei torinesi KOLLETTIVO e 5° BRACCIO, dei berlinesi STROMSPERRE, dei finlandesi KAAOS e degli inglesi TOTAL CHAOS (non gli ammmeregani). Qualche fruscio è d'obbligo per questo cimelio del punk hardcore nostrano, ma nel complesso il rip è davvero ottimo. Unica curiosità, il lato A andava fatto girare a 33 e un terzo, mentre il lato B a 45.

Geisha - St (12") #1983

Rimediamo subito ai danni: quelli che di voi hanno scaricato l'ep Geisha che doveva essere dei 2+2=5, e che invece loro non era, non buttino via niente. Cambino solo nome alla cartella e ci schiaffino questa bella copertina, perchè il vinile in questione non è affatto male. Loro sono un oscuro trio finlandese che credo abbia dato alle stampe solo questo 12" e che si produce, con discreti risultati, in un synth pop minimale dal piglio danzereccio. Atmosfere darkeggianti e un bel cantato femminile corredano gli undici minuti che compongono il disco. Se avevate dei dubbi, ora sapete che anche in Finlandia ci sono stati gli anni '80.
