Bologna Violenta - Si ribella (ep) #2007

Bologna Violenta è la one-man-band dietro cui si cela Nicola Manzan, trevigiano classe 1976, diplomato in violino e polistrumentista che negli ultimi anni ha lavorato in studio e dal vivo con band molte band del panorama musicale italiano.
Il progetto nasce nel 2005, anno dell'esordio omonimo ispirato ai poliziotteschi degli anni Settanta, ed è fin da subito votato alla violenza sonora ed al nichilismo musicale: una sorta di cyber-grind dove la melodia è quasi assente, mentre sono le ritmiche serrate, i riff punk-hardcore ed i sintetizzatori a farla da padrone.

Il Teatro Delle Ombre - Ti ricordi? #2004

Secondo lavoro autoprodotto per Il Teatro Delle Ombre che si rivela fin dal primo pezzo (Divora) più immediato, con un miglior lavoro in fase di missaggio e strutturalmente più complesso rispetto al loro primo cd, Storie d'inverno. I pezzi sono molto ispirati e di chiara matrice HC ma dai forti connotati melodici...provate a immaginare il Torino-hc più triste che vi passa per la testa e coloratelo con tonalità che spaziano dal grigio al nero pece e come sfondo metteteci il triste e desolante nord-est. Tra i pezzi segnalerei inoltre, Occhi come vetri (tirata e veloce), Mai più, Grigiore e Novembre (ambedue con un buon cantato doppiato ben sorretto da un drumming incalzante e preciso) mentre Pagine vuote potrebbe far pensare ai MASSIMO VOLUME virati hardcore. Bello l'artwork con foto in bianco e nero alternate a bei disegni dall'aspetto molto naif.

Dracula Lewis is one of the most well hidden deep dark secret from eastern-Europe, based in Romania he spent long time traveling all over the world. Vernasca, Valhalla is the first official release and Hundebiss Records is proud to present this four tracks done with a broken mixer and two open-mic. The result is a deep listening, lo-fi aggressive electronics with weird field recordings but also a spacey melodic sweet sound who came up from this maelström.

CICLO DEL GRANCHIO *** - Mangle si vaga lenti alla ricerca nella poltiglia di chele enormi. Il ventre molle da succhiare svelti è il nutrimento: solo quello. Tutto (i rifiuti, i corpi) ritorna vivo nel mangle, diventando di nuovo: di nuovo granchio.

THE CYCLE OF THE CRAB *** - Mangle we are slowly roaming looking for huge chelae into the mush. The soft abdomen to be quickly sucked is the nourishment: only that. Everything (rubbish, bodies) comes back to life in the mangle: crab again.

*** Ai margini della città di Recife (capitale dello stato di Pernambuco, Brasile) è il mangle, una distesa viscida, melmosa, invasa ritmicamente dalla marea, dove ogni giorno uomini, donne, bambini delle mucambos (le bidonvilles del mangle) avanzano tra rifiuti di ogni sorta per acchiappare e mangiare i granchi che vi pullulano. I granchi si nutrono degli scarichi della città: tutti gli scarti dell'uomo ritornano nel mangle per divenire di nuovo granchio (tutto ciò è chiamato: il tremendo ciclo del granchio). In Brasile attualmente più di metà di tutta la terra coltivabile è in mano al 2% della popolazione e la maggior parte della risorse minerarie viene sfruttata da compagnie multinazionali straniere.

*** At the edges of the city of Recife (in Brasil) there is the mangle, aviscid, muddy plane, rythmically invaded by the tide, where every day men, women and children of the mucambos look for crabs to eat into the rubbish which accumulates there. These crabs feed on the refuses of the city: all the rubbish produced by men goes back into the mangle to become again crab (the all thing is called the terrible cycle of the crab). At the moment in Brasil the most part of the cultivable land is owned by 2% of the population and most of the minerary resources is exploited by foreigner multinational corporations.

Movie Star Junkies - In a night like this (10") #2010

Junkyard rockers from the Boot go half on a BIRTHDAY PARTY-esque wild electric stalker vibe, the other half on Roma-induced static caravan ripoff/roof patching scam/throwing-mustard-on-you-then-cleaning-it-up-while-lifting-your-wallet style dishonesty. Unsurprisingly, both approaches work for the desired effect: garage eeriness and swingin’ sledge from some Euro dudes who try to recreate others’ pasts in their own present. Fun record, for sure, but most of this band’s output is. Four songs.

Responsabile di questa meraviglia su nastro è la prevedibilmente polacca QQRYQ mentre il rip non può che arrivare dal buon Raff.

Kina/The Sphere - Come tu mi vuoi (7" split) #1988

Back in the late 1980's Italian Hardcore was fast, loud, and had this special sort of uncontrollable power.
I think you know what I mean, RAW POWER, NEGAZIONE, INDIGESTI, PEGGIO PUNX, CCM, etc.
Kina were different and quite a phenomenon for me. Their songs pass despair and lust for life at the same time. They had this power, they were fast, but they had a special emotional edge. Whether they were influenced from Washington D.C. Hardcore or from Italian Folkmusic or both or whatever, I don’t know. With this tune featured here they took it to the extreme. It was the first time for me that I heard a political influenced hardcore band playing an unplugged, acoustic song. As I had a depressive period of life in these times (you know Weltschmerz, don’t you?), this was the absolute right thing for me.
When I hear it today it’s still nice, but it doesn’t give me the creeps anymore. Nonetheless this is still an outstanding tune from an outstanding band.
The B-Side features The Sphere. A little punkrock rumbler with a country-, folk-like drumming. Not bad.

Altro file scovato tra i vecchi rip: loro sono i fiorentini Barbed Wire Temple e la loro discografia, oltre a questo sette pollici, mi è ignota. Anche perché, cercando in rete, mi sono imbattuto soltanto in una serie di video, postati sul tubo dall'utente TripponeMago, che paiono brani registrati in seguito al 7" ma dei quali non sono riuscito a scoprire l'origine. Pur non essendo la mia tazza di té preferita, devo comunque ammettere che in questo dischetto uscito per la Blu Bus i quattro dimostravano di saperci fare, miscelando sapientemente influenze punk e grunge.
