Ritorniamo a Seattle dai cari Briefs per il loro ultimo 7", pubblicato per la label canadese Zaxxon. A differenza delle ultime uscite sulla lunga distanza, la band statunitense rispolvera qui la sua forma migliore (quella che Hit after hit aveva reso celebre), incidendo sui solchi del primo lato una Stuck on you che farebbe invidia ai primi BUZZCOCKS e coverizzando sulla seconda facciata un vecchio brano (1979) dei seminali punkrockers canadesi FORGOTTEN REBELS.

Spassosissimo live alla radio (e che radio!) dei quattro seattleiani, qui ancora nel loro periodo d'oro. Nove tracce di punk rock in perfetto stile settantasettino, con quel giusto mix di ritornelli (e melodie) accattivanti e attitudine stradaiola che ci ha fatto così tanto apprezzare il loro disco d'esordio. La loro irresistibile demenza ha creato anche qualche difficoltà all'intervistatrice, che ha passato la maggior parte del tempo dedicato alle domande ridendo.

Piacevole e divertente album d'esordio per questa band di Seattle, protagonista, qualche anno fa, di un furente show al bolognese XM24 che mi spinse all'acquisto del dischetto. Punk rock settantasettino farcito di melodie à la BUZZCOCKS e di influenze stradaiole; liriche adolescenziali, attitudine al cazzeggio a mille e una pericolosa passione per i ritornelli contagiosi. Venticinque minuti di punkforfun.
